It is more than enough to kill DDs and set fire to angled BBs. Fire chance isn't great and HE damage is low. HE is laughable, but serviceable, don't expect to be burning things down like you are in an atago. Edited Septemby HazeGrayUnderwayĪll of the "it looks great" aside, and it does look good, at its heart it is also a great ship. Dunkerque up to certain ranges and firing angles, can be deadly accurate, and her guns are more than capable of devastating Adm Hipper / Prinz Eugen. Something is going to hit if their aim is good. Arizona can be trollishly accurate with her 356mm's. Even if Prinz Eugen is top tier, those 356mm BBs she can face can, and will insta-delete her like any other Cruiser. But it hinges completely on you in surviving in a relatively fragile Cruiser, in a set of tiers where Cruisers can easily go BLUP!!! and they're gone, just like that. Against Cruisers, she shines, but Battleships will perforate her. I'd venture to say, success with these upper tier Cruisers hinges on a player knowing how to survive in a relatively fragile ship, especially in the very BB heavy meta of Tier VIII+ where PE/Hipper are found in. It's useless when BBs start slinging shells. However, that "Good enough" applies in her armor, which is typical for other Cruisers her tier. The Adm Hipper, which Prinz Eugen is basically a copy of, is an "all around" CA. Is the Prinz Eugen worth it? I have been on the fence on whether or not I should buy it, anyone here willing to say what they do and don't like about it? If I do buy the Prinz it will only be with the port slot for ~$40.Īlso PLEASE No comments saying "If you like the Hipper, you will like the Prinz." That doesn't help me decide whatsoever because I'm up to the Nurnberg, but I will say that I love playing German CAs right now.
